On October 12, the LN Garden Hotel, Guangzhou will welcome a convoy of 14 vintage cars that have ventured all the way from Hamburg, Germany to Guangzhou, navigating through eight large countries in the process.
The rally was started by the German-Chinese Cultural Exchange Association (Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Chinesische Verständigung e.V. ), and jointly organized by China Tours Hamburg and the German weekly magazine, Die Zeit. On August 19, a total of 14 teams embarked on the 51-day journey across Eurasia in their classic automobiles. The countries they have driven through include Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China, in respective order.
Once the convoy traverses China, they will have fulfilled their symbolic role as new-age cultural ambassadors traveling the New Silk Road and sharing the exciting experience of their adventurous journey and their unique encounters.
The rally's premium vehicles include a Citroen built in 1952. The owner
has driven the car in several long-distance events, most notably a rally
from Paris to Moscow.

Before they conclude their trip in Hong Kong, the convoy will assemble at Guangzhou's first landmark five-star luxury hotel, the LN Garden Hotel, Guangzhou, and will display their unique cars for guests and visitors on Friday and Saturday, October 12-13. Since its launch in 2006, this is the first time the rally will be coming to Guangzhou.
On October 13, the group will tour Guangdong's capital city, giving locals a glimpse of the collection of vintage cars as they visit iconic spots and city attractions.
