Following an investigation of nearly six months, Guangdong authorities have announced the arrests of 39 alleged drug dealers involved in a trafficking operation, according to Xinhua News.

The provincial public security department reported that 16 Vietnamese citizens were among those apprehended in the bust, in which four pistols, 44 bullets, and 4.79 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized by police.

The announcement comes hot on the heals of a series of raids in Shenzhen last month that targeted drug users in nightlife establishments. According to reports, 15 foreigners were busted in the sting operations and were detained and then deported to Hong Kong, where they allegedly remain.
