The submission deadline for our That's PRD Writing Contest Spring 2018 has passed and our editorial staff have spent the past week poring over the 50-plus entries we received, finally narrowing down the pack to 20 finalists. The next step? Having said finalists read their work live at our That’s PRD Live Reading Party.
We’d like to invite everyone in the PRD – those who submitted works, those who considered doing so and those who laughed out loud at the prospect – to join us at ATLAS Coffee in Guangzhou on Saturday, May 19 at 7pm to celebrate our region’s budding poets, novelists and travel writers (and have one – or 10 – glasses of wine).
Each finalist will read his or her piece aloud in front of an audience and panel of judges, including longtime That’s PRD contributor and Urban Family editor Lena Gidwani, Guangdong Radio and Television host Hazza and a special VIP guest who will be introduced at the event.
Audience members will also have a chance to vote for their favorite work and determine the Reader’s Choice winner. So finalists, bring plenty of sidekicks because we have some awesome prizes, including: a one-night hotel stay and hot spring experience for two people, hotel buffet and Go Green Golf vouchers and Prosecco.
Tickets are RMB60 and include a welcome ‘coffee tonic’ cocktail, a glass of wine and free flow soft drinks! The fine folks at ATLAS Coffee will also provide a variety of finger foods. Better yet, from 6pm until closing, attendees can enjoy a 10 percent discount on food and 40 percent discount on drinks at ATLAS Coffee.
