If you use Showstart to buy tickets for your favorite music shows, you might have noticed that some of this weekend’s best gigs were missing from the comprehensive ticketing platform.
Showstart has pulled tickets for all foreign bands and artists performing in SD Livehouse and 191 Space from its website after recent government warnings about music venues and livehouses playing host to foreign performers without proper warrants.
You can now pre-book tickets for those two venues via the app Weidian (微店) or you can ring both venues for more ticket information (191 Space: 8737 9375; SD Livehouse: 2899 5539).
Moving swiftly forward, here are some of the best gigs happening in Guangzhou this weekend.

This time around, get up close and personal with Californian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Tom Ricci with his band Nervebloc.

Mon, Apr 30: Enter Shikari @ SD Livehouse
British Rock band Enter Shikari have gone through quite a metamorphosis over the past few years. From singing about politics on their 2015 release, The Mindsweep, and now feeding off inspiration from electronic acts like Depeche Mode on their most recent album, The Spark, Enter Shikari have all but thrown off the burdensome nu-metal tag they were laden with early in their musical career. They arrive in Guangzhou as part of their Asian tour, which also takes in cities like Bangkok, Singapore and Taipei.
