Exciting news today for Huadu residents and city dwellers interested in visiting Huadu’s super-rad swimming hole (when the weather warms up, of course): Guangzhou Metro Line 9, which will connect the city center with the peripheral district of Huadu, began trial runs yesterday.
Scheduled to open to commuters by the end of the year, Line 9 will have six-carriage trains and share a transfer station with Line 3 at Gaozeng Station, according to GRT Radio.
Construction began in 2011 and the line will span 11 stations in both Huadu and Baiyun districts, covering a distance of 20.1 kilometers.
Line 9 will also stop at Guangzhou North Railway Station, which runs trains from Guangzhou to Qingyuan, Wuhan and Beijing, among other cities.
