At around 8am yesterday morning, a large crane arm collapsed onto a moving vehicle in downtown Zhuhai, Guangdong province, with the whole incident captured by closed-circuit television cameras.

Footage shows the crane falling across the road and slamming into a white Audi at right around where the driver is seated in the car.

Vehicles behind the unlucky Audi are seen stopping in the video to check on what remained of the car and the status of the person driving it. Thankfully, the driver emerged mostly unscathed from the vehicle’s sunroof and was transported to the hospital, where he received treatment for a fractured right ankle.

He was the only person inside the crushed car.

The fallen crane was operating at a construction site next to the road and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Based on the video footage and images, we imagine the Audi is a write-off.
