Fork Made of Fries in Wacky McDonald's China Gimmick

McDonald’s has launched perhaps the most gimmicky dining utensil of all time: the Frork. The bastard child of a three-prong fork and the fast food chain’s signature French fries, the Frork’s Middle Kingdom debut is part of a marketing campaign for McDonald’s new line of premium burgers.

The utensil is essentially a fork with three fries as prongs and is being billed as the perfect way to scoop up all the juices and sauces that are apparently anticipate to ooze out of your premium burger and onto your food tray (a phenomenon referred to by English pitchman Anthony Sullivan as “topping dropping”).

Curious how it works? This step-by-step gif, courtesy of the hanbaobao wizards at Mickey D's, should help:

If this looks like the semi-edible fork of your dreams, be warned: only 100 Frorks are being given away in China. Want to get one? Click here for info on how you can secure your own ‘French fork.’

While the fast food marketing shtick is new to these shores, it originally debuted in America back in the spring, where its arrival was heralded by a super-cheesy, yet entirely re-watchable, infomercial-style commercial.
