SIPG Boss AVB Rants, Accuses Evergrande of Deliberate Car Crash

It seems the drama did not end on the pitch as Shanghai SIPG beat Guangzhou Evergrande in an epic AFC Champions League quarter-final at Tianhe Stadium last night.

SIPG boss Andre Villas-Boas used the post-match press conference to go on somewhat of a rant, accusing Guangzhou Evergrande and the Asian Football Confederation of a multitude of sins, including deliberately causing a car crash in front of the SIPG team bus on the way to the game.

"We come here on the bus for this game and the same two cars separately had three accidents in front of us," said the former Chelsea, Spurs and Porto manager. "This is the problem."

Although that wasn't the problem, but merely one of the problems.

"In the last game Fu Huan had a very clean slide tackle which led to his suspension in this match," the 39-year-old Portuguese went on.

And on...

"[Goalkeeper] Yan Junling is suspended for the first leg of the semi-final because the referee gave him a yellow card."

And on...

"The referee chose the end of the Guangzhou fans to take the penalties."

And on...

"The referee gives two red cards to our players."

And on...

"Zhang Linpeng should be suspended from this game because he used his elbow in the first game and he's not suspended because the committee of ethics and discipline at AFC did not judge an elbow as violent conduct."

And on...

"This club [Evergrande] can do everything, they can cause accidents in front of us, they have players who can elbow Elkeson and not be suspended and yet we won."

And on...

"The referee gave our goalkeeper a yellow card during the penalties and this is a disgrace. It's a disgrace."

And on...

"Evergrande manipulate the AFC. They can do whatever they want."

And on...

"This is the greatest achievement for SIPG ever because it's against a club that is dominating the AFC."

Wonder how he would have reacted had they actually lost.

UPDATE: Unsurprisingly, the AFC has opened disciplinary proceedings against Villas-Boas.
