Nude Man Rides Hong Kong MTR in Nothing but Crocs

Evening commuters on Hong Kong’s MTR were treated to a revealing display yesterday, when a young man boarded the subway at Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) wearing nothing but a pair of foam Crocs.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the buck-naked man, 20, was first spotted on Hankow Road, where he used an ATM to withdraw cash before heading to the metro at around 7pm.

Carrying a phone, headphones and wallet, the man garnered considerable attention (which generally happens when you strut around town in your birthday suit) while waiting to board a train bound for Hong Kong Island. Rush hour commuters reported the man to MTR staff at Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

From TST, the man traveled to Admiralty, where subway workers followed the man onto a Chai Wan-bound train, according to the SCMP. At this point, police were alerted to the situation and officers caught up with the nude man at North Point Station, a full six stops from TST.

Although the exhibitionist showed little interest or issue with gawkers and photo takers on his city-crossing journey, he reportedly became agitated and began speaking incoherently when approached by police.

“A security guard told the man that he was acting inappropriately, but [the naked man] said, ‘I’m living in my own game world, you can leave me alone. If people want to take photos, they can take photos’,” a witness told Apple Daily

Police arrested the man, apparently a resident of Hau Tak Estate in Tseung Kwan O, and he was transported to Chai Wan’s Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for a medical exam. It is believed the man suffers from mental health issues.
