July 10: Movie Night at Sun in Sky
On Monday night, join Guangzhou film lovers as they gather at Sun in Sky to share their cinematic passion. The entry fee is RMB69 and includes a glass of wine and unlimited popcorn.

July 11-15: Dinosaur ZoobyErth
Meet some of the prehistoric beasts that once roamed our planet at ‘Dinosaur ZoobyErth’ at the Guangzhou Opera House. The show is both entertaining and educational, connecting young audiences to the science of paleontology. There is also an interactive dinosaur feeding experience!

July 12: Beyond Calligraphy
Coming into being over a decade ago, Beyond Calligraphy is a popular dance performed by the Guangdong Modern Dance Group. Using their bodies, dancers portray the abstract traits of Chinese calligraphy and landscape painting. The show, performed worldwide for the past 12 years, has received rave reviews from established critics at the New York Times and Washington Post.

July 14: The Wonderful World Concert
In this concert, audiences are treated to a feast of visual and audial pleasure. An orchestra will be performing pieces from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Arabian Nights, among other classical tunes, against a backdrop of nature photos taken by world-class photographers.

July 15: Asylum Party
DJ Gordon, a frequent guest DJ at Hangover in Guangzhou and a resident at Sector in Shenzhen, began immersing himself in underground music in the early 90s. He boasts an engaging presence, a knack for story telling and the ability to move audiences till they sweat.

July 15: Summer Pool Party
Who doesn’t love a summer pool party? And this one, hosted this Saturday by PADI to coincide with the organization's Women’s Dive Day, is not to be missed. Featuring games, archery, billiards and a barbeque, tickets to this bash are expected to go fast!

July 15-16: L’Amour Immortal
The storyline of the dance drama L’Amour Immortal by Hong Kong Dance Company is based on a supernatural tale: a love story happening between a bookish man and a beautiful female ghost. The performance takes audiences through the eerie world of the dead with choreographic beauty.

July 16: Presence of Soul
Japanese post-rock band Presence of Soul boasts a sound that infuses heavy guitar and powerful drums with a gentle, female vocal. The contrast is very evident. With their album Blind, the quartet band gained the attention of audiences outside of Japan.

Ongoing: Skydiving in Yunfu
For most of us, jumping from a helicopter thousands of meters above ground is a once-in-a-life-time experience. For parachuting trainers, it’s just a regular day on the job. If you’re keen to try it in Guangzhou, join this organized expedition, where a parachuting trainer certified by the Australian Parachute Federation (APF) will take you for a memorable freefall.
You’ll be equipped with parachute gear tested by both the US Parachute Association and APF. The parachute base is located in Yunfu, west of Guangzhou, and participants should meet at Exit D of Gongyuanqian Metro Station after booking an appointment.
