No, There Won't be an Entire Month of Rain in China

A weather graphic making the rounds on Chinese social media has been debunked as fake.

You've likely seen the graphic, which shows a weather forecast predicting an entire month's worth of rain, circulating among WeChat groups in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Conveniently, the graphic doesn't denote which city was supposed to be hit with 29 straight days of rain.

Rain in China

While this is indeed the season for rain in East Asia, the graphic has been called out as fake by the experts at the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau. Debunking the rumors on Thursday, the bureau said that only three-day weather forecasts can be considered truly accurate.

In other words, if you see a weather report predicting the forecast that far off, take it with a grain of salt.
