Do you ever find yourself craving an adventure in China’s rural countryside but get sidetracked by the hustle and bustle of urban life? We know that battle all to well and want to help you escape Guangzhou’s CBD for a scenic cycle through the fields and historic buildings of Zengcheng District.
This week, we are giving away one spot on Cycle Canton’s upcoming journey through Guangzhou’s far-flung Zengcheng region, where you will bike past fruit orchards, water buffalo and rice paddies while venturing along shady mountain roads. Highlights of the tour, which is taking place this Sunday (May 28), include a visit to a 500-year-old ancestral hall, a bamboo weaving demonstration and a lunch made with freshly harvested vegetables. The bike ride ends at the beach, where cyclers can enjoy cold drinks and a snack!
The trip is 25 kilometers and cycling is done at a nice, leisurely pace. Participation costs RMB500 and Cycle Canton will arrange the following: bus transfer, bike, helmet, guides, lunch, snacks and water.
