WATCH: Elderly Woman Saved By Lube in Guangzhou Metro Incident

On May 6, at 2.54pm, an elderly woman became trapped between a subway train and the boarding platform at Guangzhou’s Ouzhuang station when her leg slipped into the gap, according to GRT Radio

The unfortunate situation happened as she was disembarking from a Metro Line 6 train.

Thankfully, a group of commuters came to the 72-year-old woman’s aid, helping to push the carriage in an attempt to create enough space to free the trapped limb.

Metro staff also got in on the action, supplying a lubricant that – coupled with the extra room created by the good Samaritans – resulted in the grandmother’s leg being successfully pulled from between the train and platform.

It turns out moving a metro car is a tall order (as you’d probably expect), as they reportedly weigh over 100 tons.
