The Guangzhou Rams Rugby club continued their late season tear last weekend, winning the annual Guangzhou 10-a-side rugby tournament held on April 29. With a slate of teams from Foshan, Hong Kong, Macau and Xiamen, the tournament featured some high-level rugby on display.

Both Guangzhou Rams men's and women's squads brought home first-place honors. A talented Xiamen Typhoons Rugby Club took home runners-up honors in the men's division.
Xiamen is also gearing up to host their own Rugby 10s tournament, the notorious beachside Xiamen Gulangyu 10s on May 13. Second place in the women's side went to a team composed of a mix of Xiamen and Shenzhen players.

The kids also got in on the action, showing off their skills during the youth rugby showcase game held during the Guangzhou 10s.
The next step for the Guangzhou men's team is to host the Shanghai Silver Dragons on May 20 for the China Cup championship. The winner will be deemed the top social rugby club in China. This year's championship match is a rematch of the final last year, a contest held in the Silver Dragon territory of Shanghai. Guangzhou fell just short of the title by a score of 12-5.
