March 14-25: Francophone Cinema Festival
The Francophone Cinema Festival celebrates the richness and diversity of the French-speaking world. This year’s program will contain 20 long and short films from 19 Francophone regions, featuring Fatima by Philippe Faucon, which won best picture at the 2015 Cesar Awards, as well as one of the most successful French comedies One Man and His Cow.

March 15 & 19: Capoeira Barsil in Guangzhou
An organization with representatives from all over the world, Capoeira Brasil practices, teaches and demonstrates the Afro-Brazilian martial art of Capoeira. Under the auspices of the Hong Kong branch, Mekael Turner runs classes every Wednesday and Sunday at Guangzhou’s new TMT Gym beside the river in Liede. Turner, who also goes by his capoeira nickname ‘Jamaica,’ describes the sport as being “like a conversation,” not just between the two bodies facing off against each another, but in the interaction of different elements that comprise the martial art, such as playing the instrument berimbau and chanting in Portuguese.

March 16: That’s PRD Food and Drink Tasting at Mezomd
To spread the art of Spanish cuisine, Guangzhou’s leading Spanish restaurant Mezomd will partner with That’s PRD to host a food and drink tasting event adhering to traditional Spanish cuisine with a set menu of Spanish assorted tapas, Iberian ham with Hami melon, Caesar salad with mango and Parmesan cheese, Spanish gazpacho, grilled angus short rib with red wine sauce, Spanish seafood paella, dessert and cheese cake with fresh fruit, as well as sangria. March 17: Sleepmakeswaves
Touring with their third and newest album, Australian post-rock band Sleepmakeswaves will land in China this March. Founded in 2006, the group is known for their textured, dynamic and emotive songs, as revealed in their first album …And So We Destroyed Everything, which won them a nomination for Australia’s Grammy Award (an ARIR Award). March 17: St. Patrick’s Day Special Ale at Bravo

March 17: St. Patrick’s Day at the Canton Tower
With support from the Irish consulate and Tourism Ireland, the sixth edition of St. Patrick’s Day at the Canton Tower, hosted by The Canton Tower and co-hosted by That’s PRD, will again celebrate the best of Irish cultural heritage with Guangzhou’s Irish diaspora. This year’s event will feature Irish bands, Irish whiskey and a camping experience, all while the Canton Tower is illuminated in Celtic green.

March 17: A Tribute to Beethoven – Fabian Muller Sonata Concert
This year marks the 190th birthday of Beethoven, and while the world is filling concert halls with musical prodigies to celebrate the occasion, Guangzhou too is holding a commemorative sonata concert featuring Germany’s rising star Fabian Muller. Eulogized by the General-Anzeiger newspaper as “a keyboard artist with a great future,” young pianist Muller has repeatedly exhibited his talent in competitions, concert tours and music festivals around the world.

Ongoing: Serge Gainsbourg Photography Exhibition
Few singers in France are as revered as Serge Gainsbourg, who is famous for his provocative and poetic lyrics and his constant experimentations through a wide range of musical genres, from jazz to funk, reggae to pop music. Gainsbourg has deeply influenced French songwriters. To pay homage – 25 years after his death – to his work and to the impact he made, this photography exhibition follows Gainsbourg through his path with intimate pictures that have become classics. These images were exhibited for the first time in a tribute exhibition at the Galerie de l’Instant in Paris in 2016. They are exhibited in Guangzhou at Fangsuo bookstore as part of this year's Francophonie Festival.
