Residents of Foshan, Guangdong province were treated to an impromptu topless gymnastics and a capella pop music performance on Monday, Netease reports

A young man climbed a 24 metre (78 ft) high voltage tower in the city's Nanhai district where he took off his top, kicked off his shoes, and sang 'Super Star' while kind of doing gymnastics.

Firefighters and family members spent six hours convincing him to come down, he was then taken to a nearby hospital.

Sources said the man may be under a great amount of stress due to debt, or maybe he just really took William W Purkey's advice to heart.
