Tired of showing up to your Halloween parties with uninspiring costumes? Don't stress. Of all the cities in China, Guangzhou is probably one of the best places to find everything from creepy Trump masks to fake blood and giant gorilla suits. Below, we've compiled the top streets, shops and websites for Halloween shopping this year.
1. Yide Lu

If you aren't into crafting a costume from scratch or are just looking for simple Halloween decor, Yide Lu is the place. There you will find your standard costume (for rent or purchase) and a large selection of Halloween decorations. From oversized spiders to a variety of hanging skeletons and masks, you'll have everything you need to turn your apartment into a haunted house.

2. thMart

thMart has some cool, spooky gear for kids and adults to swoop up while they're still in stock. With classic halloween costumes such as vampires, witches, pirates and superheroes, you will be killing the competition and laughing about last year's 'DIY' costume. 3. Guangzhou Beauty Exchange Center (AKA Wig Central)

Guangzhou is home to a range of wholesale markets, but the Beauty Exchange Market is one of our favorites – primarily because of the huge selection of wigs hiding in the basement. If you're looking for faux hair that's a step up from the 10-kuai tangled wigs sold on Yide Lu, take the trek to Sanyuanli, where higher-quality, fairly priced 'dos are just waiting to complete your killer costume.

4. Shuiyin Lu

Want an original costume this year? Head to Shuiyin Lu, deemed the 'costume market' among Guangzhou locals. With a plethora of themed shops, you are sure to find the perfect traditional Chinese costume this Halloween, from cool minority dresses to classic Beijing opera garb.

5. Ole Supermarket

For a more pleasant shopping experience, head to high-end foreign grocery store Ole at Taikoo Hui or IGC. Although it primarily sells (relatively pricey) costumes for children, adults may find some accessories to enhance their own outfit.

6. Taobao

For those with a specific look in mind, Taobao may be the answer. But you'll need to know some key Chinese phrases to find the costume you want. To start, search 万圣节儿童服装 (wan sheng jie er tong fu zhuang) for children's Halloween costumes and 万圣节服装 (wan sheng jie fu zhuang) for all general costumes.
