The Salon Presents: Storytelling and Music by Liv Lombardi

If you haven’t yet experienced the awesomeness that is The Salon, this Sunday (October 16) is THE night to do it! 

Founder Ariana Lombardi’s sister, Liv Lombardi, is in town and has prepared something extra special for guests. A self-taught singer-songwriter based in New Jersey and NYC, Liv recently completed a residency at PLAYA in Oregon, where she worked on a one-woman show tied closely to this salon's theme.

Sunday’s event commences at 9pm at CA1 and will kick off an exploration into storytelling, a theme that will continue through the end of this year. Attendees are asked to prepare stories – specifically, 'the story you tell yourself' – and to present it orally (aka, don’t just read off a page). All languages are welcome. 

If the thought of speaking in front of a crowd terrifies you, feel free to just come and listen – but don’t count out the idea of joining in next time! You never know how your story may inspire others. 

For attendees who do wish to participate, please refer to the following guidelines:

1. Prepare a 1-3 minute piece, ‘The Story You Tell Yourself.’ Some themes for inspiration include: union, embodiment or connectivity. 

2. All stories should be written in the style of affirmations, oaths or a pledge. 

3. Stories must be performed and not read.
