Shrieks filled a shopping mall in Guangzhou on the afternoon of September 17, when a quirky, naked man made an unexpected appearance, according to the Yangcheng Evening News.
At around 4pm, a Weibo user posted two photos which showed a nude male on a Comic City escalator casually holding a beverage. Comic City is an underground shopping area located near Gongyuanqian Metro Station.
“I was standing behind a group of girls on an escalator going down and suddenly they all started to scream before turning around and sprinting back up. Then the escalator stopped, but I kept walking down until, unexpectedly, I saw a naked guy,” explained the netizen in his post, with comments showing bewilderment.
A number of Comic City business owners stated that customers were scared away by the somewhat lunatic party-crasher and that their business was jeopardized.
“We’re afraid he will be a threat to our customers’ safety and drove him away from the mall,” said a Comic City security guard. “When we chased him down to the basement floor, a shopper jumped at the sight of him and dropped a beverage. He picked it up and started to drink from it as he shambled away from the mall.”
Many netizens commented that they have seen the naked man in both Yuexiu and Liwan District from time to time and we are willing to speculate he may be the same flaccid fella spotted with his junk out back in August near the Line 2 interchange at Gongyuanqian.
