August 29: Sonido Suave at 1920
The unplugged quartet Sonido Suave consists of an Ecuadorian vocalist, Dutch guitarist, Brazilian bassist and Chinese drummer. With different backgrounds and cultures, these brilliant musicians create a unique fusion of voice to jazz you up every Monday while you are dining at 1920.

August 31: The Merchant of Venice
Touring its productions since 2007, Shakespeare’s Globe has staged the Bard’s well-known plays the world over. As their first stop in China this year, Guangzhou greets the cast and creative minds of The Merchant of Venice. Most remembered for its dramatic scenes, this comedy unfolds through the character Shylock and his famous “Hath not a Jew eyes?” speech. Come experience the competing claim of tolerance and intolerance, justice and mercy.

September 1: Traditional Chinese Medicine Workshop
Get to know everything you've always wondered about Qi (energy), meridians, acupuncture, scraping, cupping and more! Understand how energy flows in your body and how it relates to physical balance. Linward’s TCM workshop features traditional Chinese culture enthusiast Leo Li from Guilin, Guangxi province. Li is now working for Suiantang TCM Clinic, a family group with a history of about 200 years. With his solid knowledge and understanding of TCM, theories like Yin-Yang and the five elements, Li will guide you through the often perplexing world of TCM.

September 4: National Theatre Live Best Leading Men Series: Frankenstein
Directed by the Academy Award-winning Danny Boyle and featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Frankenstein, a sell-out production at the UK’s National Theatre in 2011, has been experienced by millions in cinemas around the world. Based on Mary Shelley’s well-known, namesake novel, Frankenstein has been called the most “viscerally stunning show in town” and “will be spoken of for years to come.” Come to the Guangzhou Opera House and experience this thrilling tale on the big screen.

Until September 7: K2Fit Autumn Challenge
In support of good health, the K2Fit Challenge is back for another round this September, with 10 weeks of meal plans, exercise regimens and one-on-one advice from coach and founder Kara Wutzke. Ten weeks… That’s less than three months… in fact, it’s not even a quarter of a year. The deadline for registration is September 7. There will be a casual get-together on September 11 so you can meet the trainer and other challengers before the 10 weeks officially start on September 12.
