June 23: Ballet on the Left, Tango on the Right
Chicagoland’s first 'Young Steinway Artists' Liang Xiaomin and He Jue began playing together while studying at Northwestern University and went on to become a professional ensemble, the Liang-He Piano Duo, in Chicago. Developing a repertoire that innovatively combines traditional and lesser-known works, they are popular guests at music festivals throughout Asia. See this talented duo perform at the Guangzhou Opera House.

June 24-25: Suns Five-Year/Pride Party
This Friday and Saturday, celebrate the five-year anniversary of Suns, as well as Pride Weekend, at everyone’s favorite Party Pier hangout. Thirteen DJs will be performing over two days. Dress code: white and black.

June 25: Hamlet
A ballet choreographed by Wang Yuanyuan, leader of Beijing Dance Theater, Hamlet is inspired by Shakespeare’s namesake tragedy and developed from a dance in the movie The Banquet, which was also designed by Wang. The dance tells a story that transcends time and space, allowing the audience to read, comprehend, imagine and feel the narrative directly through the dancers’ physical expressions.

June 26: Hand in Hand with Mykhailo Tkachov
Every young pianist dreams of shining on stage. This month, gather your little musicians to see Ukrainian pianist Mykhailo Tkachov light up the Guangzhou Opera House. A young, talented pianist who is active in Ukraine’s classical music scene, Tkachov has collaborated with numerous renowned conductors. This June, he will perform alongside five child prodigies from Guangzhou, the youngest of whom is 7 years old.

June 26: Yoga Spirit Painting Workshop
Connect with your intuition through an inspirational art and yoga workshop. Unleash your creativity and experience a different way of meditating. This three-hour course will start with a yoga class to "find and build inspiration." As you are being guided through yoga asanas, you will open up to colors, tones, shapes and ways to reflect your inner spirit upon a canvas in the second part of the course. Registration ends June 23. Standing out among Guangzhou’s promising young artists, Liu Bin has created powerful artworks that have won rave reviews from his peers. The sophistication and artistic expression embodied in Liu’s seemingly casual works kindle one’s imagination. With his latest series, Liu invites audiences to take time to appreciate subtle matters – an adolescent anecdote, an old house in memory, an unspoken romance. This month, head to the historic Kui Yuan Gallery in Dongshankou and witness this unique exhibition.
