David Chow is no stranger to Guangzhou’s culinary scene and next weekend he is going rogue – with his first-ever pop-up restaurant at Tianhe’s Feel More Coffee & Bagels.
The menu features a creative selection of grilled cheese sandwiches, all labelled with recognizable names (the Always Sunny in Philadelphia sandwich anyone?) and packed with eclectic ingredients (#slamminsmokedsalmon).
Chow, who originally hails from Vancouver, has spent his entire life working in the food and beverage industry. He attended culinary school at the age of 18 and has cooked in Canada, the United States and China – most recently as the executive Western chef at the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou in Yuexiu.
“Pop-up is a popular concept these days, so I decided to be one of the first ones in Guangzhou,” Chow told That’s PRD. “I have many more ideas, so if this one works out – and people enjoy it – then there will be more to come.”
Canadian beer will also be available for purchase, including select suds from Whistler BC's celebrated Whistler Brewing. There will be a limited supply of beer (and only 30 seats) so be sure to get there early!

That’s PRD would like to note that our weekly events guide, What’s Up Guangzhou: May 23-29, accidently placed Chow’s Pop-up Grilled Cheese this weekend, May 28-29, when it will actually take place on June 4 and 5.
June 4-5, 11.30am-3pm; see menu below for pricing information. Feel More Coffee & Bagels.
