With Chinese New Year safely in the rearview mirror it's time to look forward to the next big end-of-year party – Persian New Year.
More commonly known as the Nowruz Celebration in Iran, Persian New Year has been celebrated for over 3,000 years and marks the first day of the month of Farvardin in the Iranian calendar. The festival is annually celebrated in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and…Guangzhou!
Now in its third year, Guangzhou’s Persian New Year celebrates the best of Iranian culture, including traditional edibles, music and dancing. The event will be held this Sunday, March 20, at Tianhe District’s Gretna Green Bar and will feature a myriad of tasty Persian dishes, including the always-delicious kebabs. Alcoholic beverages will be available and include Australian sparkling wine, French red wine and Anchor beer.
Ticket prices for this event vary depending on whether you’d like to consume booze (RMB150 per person) or non-alcoholic beverages (RMB120) and advanced registration is required to attend (closes Friday evening – so hustle up!). To reserve your spot scan the QR Code below:
