March 16: Oil Painting Experimental Class

Looking to hone your artistic skills beyond selecting the best Instagram filters? Contrary to what you may hear, it’s never too late to start. Come to the picturesque village of Xiaozhou in Haizhu District for a weekly class in oil painting and surround yourself with other ardent beginners. The classes will feature an instructor and set objective, but students can also opt to pursue their own projects. Bring your creativity and an open mind!

March 18: St. Patrick's Day at The Brew

On March 18, all The Brew locations will be hosting a St. Paddy's bash that is not to be missed! Sip on green pints, dance to Irish tunes and, if you think you have what it takes, partake in The Brew’s mashed potato eating contest! Mashed potato contest schedule: 8pm Zhujiang, 9.30pm JSL, 11pm Panyu.

March 19: The Fuzz at Fei Livehouse

Hailing from China’s ancient capital Xi’an, Chinese punk rock band The Fuzz has won numerous ears with their intense sound. Two years after the release of the first album, the Fuzz start touring across China with their second collection of punky music entitled The Root of Innocence. Their two-month tour is planned to stop in 41 cities, including the far-off Tibet, in the process of which they hope to find inspirations for their next recordings. Come to Fei Livehouse and experience the emotional intensity caused by the Fuzz.

March 19: British Day Guangzhou 2016!

Get out your Union Jacks and prepare to wave them aloft at the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong’s fifth British Day Guangzhou! Sponsored by ‘BB TO,’ this annual event is based on the grand tradition of the British fete, where a community gathers together for lighthearted games, performances and plenty of food and drink, all in the company of family and friends.

This year’s British Day will take place on March 19 at Guangzhou’s Nanfang International School, just a 25-minute drive from the city center. March 19: Good France

Having successfully launched the first ‘Good France’ tasting event last March, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development introduces the second edition of the event to more than 1,500 restaurants around the globe, 61 of which are in China. Assisted by a culinary team of international renown, the Consulate General of France in Guangzhou selected nine restaurants in Southern China (six in Guangzhou and one in Shenzhen) to present the creme de la creme of French gastronomy.
