For the eighth consecutive year, the Guangzhou YMCA organized a guided stroll for the elderly through Haizhu’s celebrated flower market on February 14.

Squired through the market by a group of dedicated volunteers, including 15 from the Langham Place, Guangzhou, 50 elderly citizens had the chance to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the vibrant floral market.

A number of the seniors commented that they had always loved traditional festivals – particularly the beloved CNY flower market tradition – but have been unable to participate in recent years due to their age and limited mobility.

“As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Langham Place, Guangzhou has been actively involved in community outreach activities.  Colleagues from different departments enthusiastically took part in this CSR event”, said Ms. Lorraine Wang, director of human resources for Langham Place, Guangzhou.
