Star Cruises’ SuperStar Virgo began her year-round homeport stay at Guangzhou’s Nansha Port on January 3, according to reports, and successfully completed her maiden six-day, five-night voyage to Halong Bay and Danang, in Vietnam, and Sanya, on Hainan Island.
The same vessel also completed a three-day, two-night weekend cruise to Hong Kong last week, according to eTurbo News.
“SuperStar Virgo’s homeport deployment in Guangzhou is beneficial for the cruise industry in the Pearl River Delta region, providing our passengers a convenient holiday option departing right from their doorsteps,” Zhu Shaodong, president of GZL International Travel Service Ltd, told Travel Daily Asia.
The 1,860-passenger SuperStar Virgo will continue its current routes until November 2016, at which time it will be replaced by the brand new 3,400-passenger Genting Dream – the first ship in the new Dream Cruises fleet, according to the Travel Daily Asia report.
Prices for both aforementioned itineraries vary greatly, depending on your desired room or suite. Click here for the international traveler price list.
So far, market response to the new Star Cruises itineraries has been positive, according to Zhu, who said guests have been relishing the new entertainment and food and beverage offerings on the vessel.
