The Guangzhou Metro began trial operations on an extension of the Guangfo Line on December 28, according to Railway Gazette. The line runs south of the city center, connecting Guangzhou to Foshan, the home of Bruce Lee’s legendary shifu, Ip Man.

The extension runs from Hedong to Yangang and adds four stations over 7.3 kilometers, including an interchange stop at Haizhu’s Shayuan station, on Line 8.

An additional section of the Guangfo Line is currently being built east from Yangang to meet Lijiao, at the southern end of Line 3. This extension will include two more intermediate stations, including an interchange to Line 2 at Nanzhou, according to the report.
