“Tuna sucks,” said almost no one ever. Let’s face it, tuna, and in particular Japanese-style tuna sushi and sashimi, is delicious. It was with this sentiment in mind that Café Verano, of Hotel Nikko Guangzhou, held a Tuna Night event on August 15.

Sashimi

The event offered some delectable Japanese tuna classics, including the above mentioned tuna sushi and sashimi. The event was a showcase of traditional Japanese culture and the services offered at Hotel Nikko.

The tuna, which was shipped from Japan to Guangzhou the day before the event, weighed a substantial 60 kilograms. With the tuna came a Japanese chef who used his professional cutting skills and prompt customer service to wow event guests.

Tuna.

Tuna, for those unfamiliar with the species, hunt deep sea reefs, drop areas, seamounts and steep underwater walls. They area one of the ocean’s most delicious, albeit mercury laden, offerings.
