No matter the circumstances, avant garde is always a difficult label to live up to. This Texan instrumental band apparently see no reason to evade such categorization, however. With intricate and intense guitar licks and song titles like 'James Franco', Polyphia are a welcome reprieve from the usual slew of instrumental rock bands that pass through, as externalise their brash music via fast-paced rhythms.
