National Beauty & Night Songs

National-Beauty-and-Night-Songs.jpg

A flower, a symbol, a spirit. This poetic photography exhibition uses light and lens to reveal the unseen essence of China’s national flower—the peony. More than a botanical beauty, the peony has long represented prosperity, resilience, and grace in Chinese culture. But beneath its well-painted surface lies a world less known: its vibrant structure, life cycle, and spiritual symbolism. Captured with surgical photographic precision and lyrical sensitivity, each image opens the heart of the flower like a scalpel through petals—illuminating the 'soul of scent' behind the national bloom. This is not just a floral study; it’s a sensory and philosophical journey, a tribute to life, fragility, and the visual language of Chinese aesthetics.

In Between Two Mountains

Inbetween-Two-Mountains.jpg

Nature has long been the muse of Chinese art—and in no tradition is this more apparent than in ink painting. Through serene scrolls and expressive brushwork, this exhibition unveils how mountains, rivers, blossoms, and birds have always carried deeper meanings—vessels of emotion, culture, and spiritual inquiry. A journey through these works is not merely a visual experience, but a meditative passage through thousands of years of nature-based reflection and civilization’s dialogue with the wild.

In the Song and Yuan dynasties, scholars and collectors began to appreciate seals as art objects, marking the transition of seals towards aesthetic artistry. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, led by literati such as Wen Peng from the Wu School, seal carving evolved into a refined art form, embodying elegance and lyrical expression.
