In celebration of The Langham hotel's remarkable 160-year legacy, The Langham Shenzhen is introducing a new afternoon tea experience at its Lobby Lounge Palm Court.
This special event, crafted with creativity and finesse, pairs exquisite afternoon tea delicacies with the enchanting Chinese traditional art of paper-cutting, offering guests a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
This new experience is in collaboration with renowned Chinese contemporary paper-cutting artist Guo Meng, whose paper-cutting works serve as inspiration for the creation of the delicacies.
Guo, hailing from a family with a rich artistic legacy, honed her paper-cutting and engraving skills from a young age.
By mastering traditional techniques and pushing the boundaries of innovation, she creates works that feature not only classic patterns but also stunning landscapes and cityscapes.
The afternoon tea features a delectable array of treats, including a Tahiti vanilla and strawberry cake, which consists of a soft almond cake infused with the rich fragrance of Tahitian vanilla and topped with strawberry; an orange and yogurt cake; a Langham tea with raspberry litchi cake — a rose sponge cake that serves as a festive backdrop, enveloping the Langham tea mousse in its fragrant embrace; and a matcha and pomelo cake, harmonizing rich matcha with a refreshing tart pomelo mousse.
Guests can also enjoy a selection of savory bites, including smoked salmon with horseradish cream, cured ham with cheddar cheese, classic French foie gras sandwiches, and Italian grilled seasonal vegetable sandwiches.
Each afternoon tea service includes a choice of coffee or tea for two, and guests will receive two limited-edition paper-cut bookmarks designed by Guo, celebrating The Langham's 160th anniversary.
