Melco Unveils Studio City Cinema - Home to 1st Dolby Cinema in Macao & HK

Melco Resorts & Entertainment today unveiled Studio City Cinema, home to the first Dolby Cinema in Macao and Hong Kong, demonstrating the Company's unwavering commitment to the continued growth and diversification of Macao's tourism industry.

The opening ceremony’s officiating guests: Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director, Macao Government Tourism Office; Ms. Deland Leong Wai Man, Director, Cultural Heritage Department of the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau; Mr. Alex Or, Director of Content Relations, Greater China of Dolby Laboratories; Ms. Tessa Lau, Chief Executive Officer of Broadway Theatre Company Limited and Ms. Kinnie Cheung, Coproducer of Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In were welcomed by Melco representatives including Dr. Kent Wong, Chief Advisor, Mr. Clarence Chung, Board Director of Melco, Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Chairman and CEO, and Mr. Kevin Benning, Senior Vice President, Property General Manager of Studio City. 

As part of the event, Studio City Cinema showcased an exclusive 'Director's Cut' screening of the blockbuster Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, now with a box office exceeding HKD100 million, with key members of the cast including Mr. Louis Koo, Mr. Richie Jen, Mr. Raymond Lam, Mr. Tony Wu and Mr. German Cheong in attendance to join the celebration.

Offering the top screen and sound quality available in Macao, the 770-seat capacity cineplex comprises 9 houses, including 5 VIP suites and a screening house with exclusively paired seating. 

The centerpiece is the cineplex’s Dolby Cinema, which combines the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos and remarkable picture of Dolby Vision in a custom-designed theatre to deliver the most immersive experience possible. 

Other houses boast best-in-class features including RealLaser 4K projection, with three houses supporting Dolby Atmos, to offer the most intimate and indulgent viewing experience to every guest. 

Studio City Cinema will officially open to the public on June 26.
