On July 27, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Statistics announced the accounting results of Guangdong Province's regional GDP.
The data revealed that the city's GDP for the first half of 2023 reached RMB1.62976 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 6.3%.
Shenzhen's industrial production has been steadily rebounding, with the value-added industrial output increasing by 3.9% year on year, and the growth rate 1.4 percentage points higher than that of the previous five months.
Key Industry Performance
Among the major industries, the automotive manufacturing industry demonstrated remarkable growth, with a value-added increase of 89.7%.
Specifically, the production of new energy vehicles and charging piles saw impressive growth rates of 170.2% and 32.6%, respectively.
Additionally, investments in high-tech industries remained active, with investments in high-tech manufacturing surging by 56.3%.
Notably, investments in the electronics and communication equipment manufacturing sector soared by 66.3%.
The total import and export volume for the first half of the year amounted to RMB1.676368 trillion, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
The value of exports reached RMB1.047882 trillion, showing a substantial growth of 14.4%.
However, there was a noticeable decline in the volume of goods imported, which amounted to RMB628.486 billion, experiencing a decline of 10.3%.
