Jello & Mellow, an immersive playhouse café opening in late-May 2023, presents enticing all-day family dining and an imaginative interactive indoor play area for the little ones. 

Conveniently located within a new Ginza-style commercial building overlooking Quarry Bay Park and promenade and near Taikoo Shing MTR station, this spacious kid-centric dining and recreation sanctuary is another charming string to the bow of dining entrepreneur Vivien Lau – the founder of celebrity-loved cakery Vive Cake Boutique and newly opened café VIVE at Gough Street who helms an enterprising restaurant group targeting the varied desires of the community. 

Spanning an impressive 5,700 sq. ft, Jello & Mellow is an immaculate hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the rejuvenated Quarry Bay district. The simplicity of the airy, minimal design comes from Nordic aesthetics emphasising both functionality and beauty. A feeling of comfort and harmony pervades through simple lines, uncluttered spaces and natural tones and lighting. Pastel blues, pinks and yellow on upholstered chairs and globe-like lamps that appear to float from the ceiling conjure warmth and joy.

The name was chosen to reflect the innocence, soaring imagination and unlimited potential of childhood – a soft, sweet jelly treat that can come in countless diverse shapes combined with a warm-hearted, mellow spirit – while incorporating a mother’s loving nod to her children: the initials of her twin boys begin with J and M.
