The very fact that these accounts exist on web sites banned within China - that government officials and agencies openly operate on the same platforms they've deemed too dangerous to trust their subjects on - is weird.

But it gets weirder. Netizens realized today that Xinhua's Twitter has some very off-color interests, chief amongst which is a penchant for porno - and Japanese porn at that.
Ever since the Chinese government started hunting down Japanese porn stars on home-grown Weibo, however, keeping up with them on Twitter might be the only avenue left for them to pursue their passion. So fair enough.
