In Sichuan brothel, police find room catering to corrupt official fantasies

When police busted a brothel in the Sichuan city of Yibin recently, they found something quite unexpected in the supposed bath house's secret chambers: a Communist Party official's office.

This Cuiping District massage parlor, like so many up and down the country, catered to customers' fantasies. Alongside the predictable schoolgirl- and nuptial chamber-themed bedrooms, however, this one stood out as a reflection of client's changing tastes and their most pervasive erotic daydreams.

As Chinese president Xi Jinping's anti-graft drives continues to pick up steam and target ever more government sectors, every day headlines across the country are resplendent with the details of corrupt officials' opulent lifestyles: from carrying on affairs with multiple women at home and abroad to stashing thousands of kilos of cash in their homes to loading luxury cars with gold bars.

All things considered, it's hardly surprising that ordinary guys around China are daydreaming about life as a tiger (or even just a fly), with unchecked power and a lifetime of opportunities to abuse their authority, taking whatever they want from whomever they want.

In case anyone was wondering what the iconic sexual fantasy of modern China was, here you go:
