What do you mean you don't speak Chinese? But you look Chinese! Or at least, Chinese-ish.

Being an ABC (American Born Chinese) or ABK (American Born Korean) or IBM (Italian Born Mongolian, we suppose) or any other stripe of someone with Asian heritage but a Western childhood can be confusing enough in your home country, let alone in China. Some (read: all) of the nuance gets lost in translation, as the folks at Mamahuhu show us:

It's a hard-knock life for our overseas-born Asian friends: not locals, but not quite laowai either. We applaud their perseverance against all odds (and through all awkwardness.)
