PHOTOS: Chinese couple shoot naked Avatar-themed wedding photos in Zhangjiajie

UPDATE: The male model in these photos has since come forward to reveal the story was fabricated by a local tourism promoter. He claims the woman was not his bride-to-be but rather a total stranger and is pursuing legal action.

In the idyllic mountains, lakes and forest of Zhangjiajie, whose karst formations inspired the landscape of alien planet Pandora in the 2009 blockbuster Avatar, a couple has done what is presumably the first (and hopefully last) wedding photo shoot of its kind.

Disrobed and painted blue to resemble the Na'vi people of Pandora, the couple's pictures take fandom to a new and frankly uncomfortable level.

No one should like Avatar this much. No one.

Luckily (or not) the James Cameron fan club cum nudist colony also shot some less blue but far more naked pics as well:
