There seems to be a trend stirring in Chinese hospitals as patients walk in with knives in their heads. Last year "Calm Brother," as he was to become known, went viral online for walking unperturbed into a hospital with a knife lodged in his head. Yesterday, a 57-year-old resident of Guangyuan, Sichuan, ventured out of his home to only have a "flying knife" jammed into his skull, leaving us with yet another unfortunate "knife-in-head" story to tell.

The man, surnamed Xiao, recounted what happened: "When I passed the compound entrance towards River Street, about 200 or 300 meters, I suddenly feel that my head get heavy."

As he was walking past a fast food restaurant, the owner frantically called out to Xiao, "Aiya, there's a knife in your head!"

"I realized that it was the weight of the knife in my head," Xiao said. "I walked back more than a 100 meters but my head hurt and I feel faint."

Xiao then sat down at the cigarette stand beside his home and waited for an ambulance.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon and reports show that the knife had embedded itself into the left hemisphere of his brain, as deep 10 centimeters, with just the handle remaining outside his skull.

According to preliminary police investigation, the "flying knife" fell out from someone's apartment and was used for gardening or the maintenance of household appliances. The police hazarded that "judging by the shape of the knife, it belongs to an old electrician. It doesn't seem like it was intentionally thrown to hurt anyone."

Xiao was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment but doctors say that there's no danger to his life.
