One of the quirky things about staying in hostels and hotels in China is the proprietors' almost universal desire to warn guests about not, you know, breaking the law. Taking drugs and hiring prostitutes is illegal in many (if not most) countries, but British hotels (for example) never seem to feel the need to remind guests about that fact.
