Workers used a controlled explosion to split a tower block in Shenyang, Liaoning Province perfectly in half.
Supporting walls in the middle of the Xiangyun Building were cut away before an explosion was used to demolish just one side of the building, leaving the other half of the tower almost totally intact.
The building was destroyed after officials deemed its design and facilities to be out of date. Despite the effort in preserving the other half of the building, it too is due to be demolished in the next week, the job was split into two to minimise risk to surrounding buildings.
