During a warm fall day, the InterContinental Changsha welcomed our longtime friends from Changsha Social Welfare Institute. While the hotel is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary we launched a charity activity named “Collaboration and Development”.
On September 14th 2024, around 30 leaders and trainers from the Changsha Social Welfare Institute arrived at the InterContinental Changsha, ready to absorb the knowhow of our hotelier through learning and exchange of ideas and thoughts. The meeting started with a welcome speech from Mr. Aref Sayegh, Hotel General Manager, in which all the great memories of this past ten years with the Social Welfare Institute were brought up. The following speech was delivered by Mrs. Rong Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Changsha Social Welfare Institute, in which she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the InterContinental Changsha for its continuous assistance over the past years while caring for the elderly, the children as well as all the Social Welfare Institute staff. Mrs. Rong Yi presented to the hotel the “Caring Community & Love Enterprise” award.
Chloe Liao, Director of Training and Quality introduced the service concepts, including problem handling, 5-steps method, and service recovery. All the trainers cherished this opportunity and learn from the hotel on how to enhance and optimize services. This training was followed by a hotel tour.
The friendship between the InterContinental Changsha and the Social Welfare Institute has been going for a long time with the love donations, love dinner. In 2024, the charity event is a continuous reflection of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility. IHG's “Journey to Tomorrow” is all about caring for the community, key focus of the hotel. Some activities to include the monthly voluntary “River Cleaning” by the hotel's Colleagues has become a familiar green topic of conversation in the North Star Delta community. “We hope to bring more positive impact to the local economy and society through our love and support, green activities, skills training and innovation.” said Aref Sayegh, Hotel General Manager.
