A significant milestone in regional transportation was marked today, October 11, with five cities in Guangdong – including Zhanjiang – introducing their inaugural high-speed rail link directly to Hong Kong.

This development brings a more convenient and efficient mode of travel to the region, offering both commuters and tourists a high-speed rail connection to the vibrant city of Hong Kong from the heart of Guangdong.

The high-speed rail journey originates from Zhanjiang West Station and is represented by the G6046/8 train service, which will provide the first-ever direct rail link between Zhanjiang and Hong Kong.

The high-speed rail route traverses through nine stations, making it accessible to numerous cities along the way. These include:

  • Zhanjiang West

  • Maoming

  • Yangjiang

  • Kaiping South

  • Jiangmen

  • Guangzhou South

  • Humen

  • Shenzhen North

  • Hong Kong West Kowloon

Besides Zhanjiang, the cities of Maoming, Yangjiang, Kaiping, and Jiangmen will also experience the convenience of a high-speed rail link to Hong Kong for the first time.

The direct high-speed rail service from Zhanjiang West operates once daily, providing a travel time of approximately 4 hours and 13 minutes to reach the bustling Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
