To assist Shekina, the mother of deceased American boy Liam, close friends of the family have organized a fundraising campaign in conjunction with the Congolese Community Organization.

For the blissfully unaware, Liam was a 3-year-old American boy who was reported missing on the night of November 3 in Guangzhou. He was found dead the following afternoon.

Donations to aid Liam’s mother during this difficult time can be made to the treasurer at the Congolese Community Organization and we’ve been assured that 100% of funds raised will go to Shekina. Reports will be compiled daily of total donations and will be available to ensure transparency.

Those looking to contribute are encouraged to add Nella on WeChat (ID: Dumeznella; phone: 130 5843 0478). For more information please see the poster below:

Alternatively, you can donate money directly to Shekina herself by scanning the QR code on the poster below:

While some social media users have claimed that the above posters are fake, we can confirm they are authentic and that funds donated via the WeChat accounts provided in this post will make it directly to Shekina. That said, exercise caution when scanning QR codes that are shared in WeChat groups or online, as it is possible that scam accounts may crop up.

And finally, we’ve been asked to remind the public to respect the privacy of Liam’s family during this unquestionably tragic time.
