Typhoon Lingling to Bring Heavy Rains to Shanghai This Week

Thankfully, Typhoon Lingling isn't expected to hit Shanghai directly. But that doesn't mean it won't impact the city's weather.

The system is currently moving north and is expected to arrive near Japan's Ryukyu Islands from Wednesday to Friday. Given Lingling's close proximity to Shanghai, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau has announced that the city – especially eastern regions – will likely see heavy rains from Thursday to Friday, according to AccuWeather.

Typhoon Lingling was upgraded from a tropical storm on Tuesday and will strengthen over the next few days. Lingling is expected to continue north and make landfall in South Korea on Saturday.
