A horrific video surfaced on social media last weekend showing a group of young men violently assaulting one another with glass bottles.

The fight occurred at around 2am on November 17 and, according to China Youth Daily, took place at a KTV bar in Danzhou, on Hainan Island.

The gruesome incident started after two men, each accompanied by a group of friends, got into an altercation. One of the men involved in the confrontation proceeded to leave the bar when a major fight broke out. The violence quickly escalated and pretty soon a full-blown bottle-throwing melee was underway.

The video clearly shows that a man in a white shirt was the main target of the fight, with multiple men dressed in black T-shirts aggressively throwing glass bottles at him. At one point, a man walks up to one of the angry brawlers, apparently in an attempt to stop them, only to have a bottle chucked at this head.

Wang Ye, the owner of the bar told China Youth Daily that the bar suffered huge losses in the wake of the fight, with some of the staff sustaining injuries. Much of the bar’s equipment, including lights, audio systems and TV sets, was also severely damage.

As of November 22, a video of the incident posted by @吐槽爆料哥 has received more than 7,500 comments. While many netizens expressed shock at the sight of such violence, others have criticized the bar for not doing enough to maintain the peace.

“The bar is in serious lack of proper safety measures. If this happened in Fujian, they would have immediately been pulled out of the bar by security guards,” wrote one Weibo user.

That's tried to reach out to the bar (至尊酒吧KTV) but has yet to receive a response. However, it's been reported that the bar has temporarily suspended operations.

Meanwhile, the hooligans involved in the fight are still at large as of press time. The police are tracking them down, an officer from Danzhou Public Security Bureau told That's. Fortunately, while multiple people were injured during the fight, no one was killed.
