Shanghai Disney is supposed to be a wonderland for all who visit, but it seems it's not always the happiest place on earth. Unfortunately, unruly tourists at the resort are known to harass working staff and other guests. Recently, Mickey Mouse has now joined the ranks with characters such as 'Pluto,' 'Dale' and 'ShellieMay,' who have been attacked at the park, reports South China Morning Post.

On October 20, the abuse was exposed on Weibo by one guest who witnessed the assault on two resort performers dressed as Mickey and Minnie. She recalled that a male tourist attempted to hold Minnie's hand. After he failed, he smiled and threatened to beat both characters. And, it didn't take long before he kept his word and forcefully hit 'Mickey Mouse' on the head.

Enraged by what she saw, the Weibo user immediately condemned the harasser, demanding him to stop. "I did hit him, but so what?" the attacker lashed out at her. "How dare you shout at me," he said. At the same time, he tried to stop her from recording the incident with her phone.

That day, the witness immediately uploaded her video on Weibo. "I know there's little to one single person can do to stop people like this, but I will still stand up and try." she wrote in the caption.

Once again, netizens were infuriated by the recurring incident. "Why doesn't he feel ashamed at all? I hope visitors like this never appear at Disney again," wrote one netizen on Weibo. "Someone should put him in a costume and let him have a taste of what it's like to be struck on the head," another netizen commented.

Sadly, among the criticism and condemnation, a few netizens are defending the attacker. "We spend a large sum of money to enter Disney. Isn't it our right to interact with these costumed performers however we want?" asked one netizen on Sohu.

The costume headgear weighs three to five kilograms (6.6 to 11 pounds), so any impact on the head could generate considerable harm to the performers. Last year, a staff member inside a 'Dale' costume was hit on the head and later diagnosed with a slight concussion.

According to Kankanews, the harasser has been tracked down by Shanghai Disney and is forbidden from entering the resort for six months.
