Three people are dead and nine injured after a horrific bus crash in Qingyuan that occurred on Saturday, June 23, around 9.20am. The vehicle was carrying middle school teachers from Shaoguan, Guangdong, en route to an education event in Zhuhai.

Video footage shows a yellow bus cruising towards a tunnel on the Leguang Expressway. Shortly before reaching the tunnel entrance, the vehicle swerves into a roadside barrier and rolls over, spinning over 180 degrees. The momentum tosses a number of passengers through the windows, some of whom then get pinned under the weight of the fallen bus.

Vehicles behind the bus were able to stop before reaching the site of the crash, preventing further carnage. According to Southern Metropolis Daily, police were immediately dispatched and arrived on the scene shortly after the accident. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

We’d like to take a moment to remind all our readers: if you’re riding a bus and there is a seatbelt, put it on. It could save your life.
