China's famed hairy crab season is well underway, and the annual harvest would not be complete without a competition to find the country's largest crabs.
The winners at this year's national hairy crab contest, an annual event hosted by Shanghai Ocean University, were a 523.8 gram male crab from Anhui and a 361 gram female crab from Jiangxi.
The pair, which beat out a field of nearly 1,800 clawed contestants, were officially crowned "king and queen" on Tuesday following a grueling judging panel session.
Congratulations to the big hairy winners!
