A China Eastern Airlines flight in Shenzhen was delayed Monday, but not for the usual reasons.
The nearly two-hour holdup started after a flight attendant took to the air early by falling 2.7 meters from the plane's rear cabin door, Kanfa News reported.
Emergency personel transported her to a hospital to treat a fractured hand and scalp abrasions, according to Beijing Time.
A Weibo post by Shenzhen Airport Group's account said that the Tengchong-bound flight left at 2.33pm. Airline employees said takeoff had been scheduled for 12.45pm.
As of Tuesday, officials were looking into the cause of the fall.
